The Bridge

The bridge

Between the two large oaks you can see a remembrance stone. Carl XIV Johan raised the stone in 1835. In honour of the battle of Sweden when Gustav Ericsson Wasa had a close escape at this bridge in June 1521 and was later crowned king in 1523.

  1. I love historical spots like this. Thanks for proving a link and the history – just think of all the season\'s this bridge has seen.

  2. Such a historic place. It looks so much different from the image I just commented on. What a change in seasons can do. 🙂

  3. This looks a very \'English\' scene to me for some reason Frida, the oak trees perhaps? Lovely image.
